The red tennis shoe is Karin Gruss's first picture book, created as a result of the impress made on the author by the fighting in Gaza.

It has been awarded as one of the most beatiful books of Germany by Buchkunst Foundation.

“Can a book shake you inside? Do you think a red tennis shoe can change the way you look at the world?” (Biblioteca de los Elefantes).

“Totally recommendable reading. A brave, necessary and unforgettable picture book” (Pep Bruno).

"This book makes you not to look the other way” (Boolino).

“A book that moves you” (Ade Cabo).

"This book is beautiful because of he quality of its design, because of the expressivity of its drawings, the use of colour as an element of drama, and because of the freshness of the layout design and the spread-pages perspective. But, above all, this is a moving book…” (Fundación Cuatrogatos).

"The red tennis shoe is a necessary book, a brave and daring one” (Voces de las dos orillas).
