Angèle Delaunois was born in 1946 in Granville (France). She arrived in Canada in 1968, aged 20, and got the Canadian citizenship in 1976. She is married and she has a 21 years old daughter.
She studied Arts at Québec University and taught courses at that university during ten years. Since her arrival in Montréal, in 1982, she has been actively involved in supporting consumers’ rights and she has run several publications focused on consumer issues.
Since 1989, she writes and publishes for children and young adults: she started with science spreading books but later she moved to all literary styles: novels, poetry, tales, picture books, documentaries, etc. She managed some book series for other publishing houses until she founded, in 2004, her very own publishing house, L'Éditions de l'Isatis, focused on Children and Young Adults’ Literature.
"My house was built in an olive tree field long time before I was born…”
This house was full of happiness, and children and flowers were reared in it. However, war and its ruins reach the whole family. Before leaving the house, Baba, the grandmother, hide the key of the house in her veil. Men go to war while women and children hide in a refugee camp.
All of them hope to go back soon. But, slowly, time passing by weakens this hope in returning home.
