Christine Delezenne was born in southern France in 1965. After finishing Graphic Arts, she specialized herself in the use of new picture technology, in Toronto and other places in NorthAmerica, and in ambiguous art (in Athens, where she studied Byzantine icons).
She is living in Québec since 1990, with her partner and their son. Precisely after the birth of her son, in 1994, she is specially focused on illustrating books for children and young adults.
"My house was built in an olive tree field long time before I was born…”
This house was full of happiness, and children and flowers were reared in it. However, war and its ruins reach the whole family. Before leaving the house, Baba, the grandmother, hide the key of the house in her veil. Men go to war while women and children hide in a refugee camp.
All of them hope to go back soon. But, slowly, time passing by weakens this hope in returning home.
