Marcus Pfister was born on July 30th 1960 in Bern (Switzerland). He studied at the Berna Art School and finished his training as a graphic designer at an advertisement company in Zürich. After travelling through Mexico, United States and Canada, he came back to Switzerland in order to start working as a freelance graphic designer. He published his first picture book in 1986, with North Soud Books, which meant the beginning of a long partnership.
However, the book that gave him international recognition was “The Rainbow Fish”.
He is the author of 49 books, translated to more than 50 languages, and still takes us by surprise with each new work.
He has four children and lives with his family in Bern, although his book-signing tours have brought him to several countries, ranging from United States to Corea, Japan or different European countries.
“Little raven, there is only one requirement if you want to play with us: You have to fly to the moon!” the grown-up ravens mocked at him
Little raven was afraid, but he flight away towards the deeply far moon. That was not likely to end well. What ever happened to this little, brave raven?
“Little raven and the moon is a very good picture book. Its content, about pain and asking for forgiveness after being rude to someone else because of jealousy, and its narrator, someone who remember with remorse something that happened in the past, are quite unusual. Besides, its graphic layout is outstanding” (Bienvenidos a la fiesta Blog).
