Raquel Díaz Reguera (Seville, October 1974) draws and writes since she was a child. When she was six years old she won her first drawing competition and since then she started to study, prove and experiment. She studied Fine Arts at Seville University and completed her training with several courses on graphic design and digital illustration. However, her professional career took a different course when she left the drawing brushes and devoted herself to her passion for music and writing.
She moved to Madrid and, together with great musicians, she wrote her first song lyrics. Soon, she signs an agreement with Universal Music Publishing and, while writing song lyrics for artists such as Victor Manuel, Pastora Soler, Noa, Zuchero, Nek, Alba Molina, Alejandro Sanz, Chayanne, Miguel Ríos, Pastora Vega and many others, she records her first album as a member of the music duo Maldeamores.
Regarding the field of design and layout, she worked in the creation of logos, posters and catalogues for several enterprises. Without giving up her passion for writing, she started to write stories for children, and to illustrate them.
In november 2010, Thule publishes her first picture book, "¿Hay algo más aburrido que ser una princesa rosa?" (“Is there anything more boring than being a pink princess?”), which is son followed by “Un amor tan grande" (“A love so big”, Imaginarium, february 2011),"A kiss before breakfast" (Lóguez Ediciones, April 2011), "El monumento a la cometa" (“The memorial to the comet”) and "Catálogo de besos" (“Cataloghe of kisses”, Thule, November 2011), "Un día de pasos alegres" (A day of happy steps, Narval, January 2012), "Azulín, azulado" (“Bluy bluish” Thule, March 2012). “What will happen now?” (Lóguez Ediciones, March 2012) is her last picture book, realized together with her sister Nuria.
On April 23rd 2011, in Castellón City Awards, she was awarded wit the XII Illustrated Literature for Children Award, "Tombatossals", given by the city hall of Castellón to her work "Algo que aprender" (“Something to learn”).
All the mornings, before going out to work, Violeta’s mother leaves a kiss on her daugther’s pillow.
That morning, the kiss, after kissing Violeta and drawing funny pirouettes around her bedroom, goes out the window and flies, flies away…
