Wolf Erlbruch (Wuppertal,1948-2022) studied Graphic Design. He worked in advertisement before, at the end of the eighties, starting to write and illustrate books for children. He is a Professor at Wuppertal University and in 2006 he was awarded with Hans-Christian Andersen Award, the most important international award of children and young adults’ literature. Among other awards, he has also obtained, in 2003, the city of Lepizig Gutenberg Award and the Extraordinary Award of German Children and Young Adults’ Literature Award, given to his whole career.
