Kirsten Boie was born in Hamburg in 1950 and she is one of the most renowned authors in German children and young adults’ literature. She studied German and English Philology, she has worked as a teacher and she published her first book in 1985. Since then, she has published more than seventy works and many of them have been translated to other languages and been awarded with numerous important literary prizes, including German Young Adults’ Literature Award and Luchs 2013. She has nominated to Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2023. She has two sons and she is currently living near to her home city.
