Katja Gehrmann was born in 1968. She studied in Mexico and Spain, and illustration at the Fachhochschule in Hamburg.
She teaches drawing to children and works for magazines and several publishing houses. She has received many awards for her illustrations, such as the Golden Apple from the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava.
