Liz Lofthouse was born in Perth, WA, where she currently lives with her husband and her two daughters. After obtaining her degree in Education, she spent some years working as a teacher in schools of her neighbourhood and later she started traveling around the world.
Ziba, resting on her mother’s arms, recalls her life, her village, while the shabby overcrowded boat on which they are traveling, sails across a sinister and threatening sea. They are running away from war, looking for a life in peace, imagining a welcoming host country where they might fulfill their dreams.
“Ziba came on a boat. An old and crowded fishing boat that rustles and groans while it raises and falls, raises and falls, sailing an endless sea…”
A book about imagination and the misty memories of a lost home.
